Get to know West Cornwall like we do with top tips and recommendations from our team!

Favourite beach: Godrevy – where my wife and I had our first date and then later got engaged.

Favourite activity: That’s a close call between anything to do with the sea and eating! I love kayaking in summer, exploring the nooks and crannies of our amazing coastline

Favourite walk: My most recent favourite find is the stretch between Perranuthnoe and Marazion. Not only do you get treated to beautiful views but there’s also a little place to get a cup of tea. Win.

Favourite garden: Mine, because there isn’t anyone else in it!

Favourite event: That night in summer that you didn’t plan but that you remember forever and pay for with 2-days of recovery.

Favourite sunset & storm watching spot: The Godolphin! With a huge mug of coffee in the morning or a hot chocolate sundowner. Mounts Bay is actually magical when the sun hits it right.

Favourite place for a pint / cocktail / glass of wine: Anywhere - its who I’m with that counts, but preferably outside, BBQ style on the beach or a beer garden

Favourite pub: A little bit further up the line, Seiners in Perranporth

Favourite restaurant: Not quite West Cornwall, but The Boat House in Newquay Harbour – cracked crab claws, skinny chips and green leaves

Favourite pasty stop: Phillps in Marazion, the steak ones are good and peppery

Favourite spot for a cream tea: I really like the little café down in the carpark at Godrevy, it doesn’t sound glamorous but the cakes are always great!

Favourite shop: Any farm shop, I love seeing muddy veg fresh from the ground, meat that was looked after and the abundance of local artisan creations that pop up in these places!

Favourite Cornish drink: Caspyn Gin and Navas Tonic

Favourite local producer: The thing that I can’t seem to live without is Cornish Sea Salt, they produce it near to my house. It may only be humble salt but I swear it makes everything taste better, I cant cook anything without putting my fingers in the salt jar.
